Councilman Murphy not seeking re-election

DMN article online here.

I haven't heard any talk* about this decision. I wonder if it is an indication the incumbents sense a "throw everyone out and start fresh" vibe?

* won't use the word "chatter" because I know how it can upset the locals.

Only by 13 minutes! Ian beat us by more than 3 hours.

Yep, Murph saw the handwriting on the wall. After years of focusing on the "region" on not on his city or his district (i.e. Spring Valley), he realized that he needed to move on before the voters did it for him. If only Slagel would do the same. Highly unlikely since Slagel isn't nearly as smart as Murph.

Steve M should stay in the open seat and let another run in the SW Richardson seat, maybe then we can get some attention along the Spring Valley Corridor Ghetto, but who? Please not Sheryl!

I hear that Pris, Dennis and a current HOA President on the east side of town have requested filing packets.

Will they actually run? Don't know ...
