It is time to rethink any misconceptions of the past, and rejoice in the gastronomic diversity that is now available in Richardson.
I don't get it. What were the former misconceptions? Has Richardson historically been some kind of culinary laughingstock and I didn't know it?
I know the String Bean moved, but can we really call it a "new restaurant that [has] opened recently"? I mean, it'd been next to the patio furniture place just across the Dallas border since fire was invented.
BTW, it's palate not pallet.

String Bean was on Spring Valley where Boner Daddys is before it moved across the line to Dallas on Coit Rd. years ago. The prices hit the roof when they moved while the food and atmosphere went downhill.
I couldn't help but notice that the Richardson Coalition Chamber of Commerce didn't mention how many restaurants had closed during the same period of time.
By my count, we're about even with numbers from years back, give or take a few.
I agree with you Anon. I went to the String Bean way back when it was on Spring Valley near center.
As for the RC: It is their typical misinformation and half truths we have come to expect. We are probably close to even on the resturant count after factoring in the losses. The RC folks need to go to Washington and work for Osama Obama with their word-smithing abilities and misleading statements.
Where did you originally see this? Is this posted online anywhere?
It was an email sent late last week.
Traditionally their editorials show up on the RC Editorial page but I don't see it up there yet.
So, let me understand this, the RC, better known as Chuck Eisemann's group of 3 elderly old men, are now "reviewing" restaurants? OMG. Not only is Chuck's group a disgrace to this city, but also they are now bordering on craziness.
I loved the RC's review on "Maggie May USA" of top local gynogologists. Since it appears that the Richardson Coalition isn't fond of women, perhaps, they should have reviewed the top local proctologists or, maybe, urologists. Understand some of those old coots have prostate issues! ;p
